Q1. What is the difference between 3pc and 2pc syringe ?

Three-piece syringe has 3 components:

a. Barrel
b. Plunger
c. Gasket(Rubber bung)

Two-piece syringe has only 2 components:

a. Barrel
b. Plunger

Q2. Which is better Three- piece or Two-piece syringe ?

Both syringes are used for same purpose. However, many users find 3pc syringe operationally more convenient; also large syringe sizes are not available in 2pc syringes.

Q3. What is the meaning of gauge size in needles ?

The gauge size denotes thickness of the needle i.e. Lower the number, Thicker the needle.
16G will be thicker than 24G.

Q4. Why Insulin cannot be given with 1ml syringe ?

Insulin is always administered in units and markings are according to units prescribed by physicians.While 1ml syringe is graduated according to metric system.

Q5. What precautions are to be taken for using the syringe ?

Ensure packing is intact so the syringe is sterile. Place the syringe in a clean tray after opening. Clean the injection site. Render the syringe unusable after the injection by cutting barrel tip and blunting the needle if    you do not have any other means of disposal
